Rayne Geurtsen (1993, she/they) is an independent curator, creative producer, artist and one of the organisers of the experimental project space The Crooked Studio, based in Rotterdam. Geurtsen researches and questions structural social systems in relation to bodily connotations, often resulting in autobiographical lenses and juxtapositions. In doing so, they imagine and creates fragmented constellations of works, working across topics like identity, gender, queerness, transness, and memory. Underlining the subjectivity and layered constructions of the fabric of identity, their outcomes are a blend of their interests in writing, cinema, nature and the fragile self.
